Relationship breakups can be deeply painful. The grief associated with the end of a romantic relationship can include sadness, anger, loneliness, relief, confusion, or all of these at different times.
Practice Self-Care
Sleep, movement, food, hydration, and routines can provide basic support while your emotional system is under strain.
Seek Support
Talk with trusted friends, family members, a therapist, or a support group. Grief is often easier to carry when it is not carried alone.
Engage in Enjoyable Activities
Reconnect with hobbies, travel, volunteering, learning, or experiences that help rebuild a sense of identity outside of the relationship.
Give Yourself Time
Healing is not linear. Small goals and small moments of relief still count as progress.
A breakup can be both an ending and an invitation to understand what you want, need, and value in future relationships.
